Danish minister reposts Prophet Muhammad cartoon on Facebook"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>RAEL\u2019S COMMENT:<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>Of course, it\u2019s free speech!<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Denmark&#8217;s immigration minister has sparked outrage once again, posting a photo of her iPad on Facebook which shows a satirical drawing of the Prophet Muhammad as the screen&#8217;s backdrop in a move which some Muslims regard as blasphemous.<\/p>\n<p>The post, which shows a bearded Prophet Muhammad with a bomb in his turban, comes in reaction to a Danish museum&#8217;s decision not to include the drawing in a new exhibition about blasphemy since the Reformation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is the museum\u2019s own choice and they have their full right to do it, but I think it\u2019s a shame,\u201d\u00a0Immigration and Integration Minister Inger Stojberg wrote in her Facebook post, referencing the Skovgaard Museum in Viborg.<\/p>\n<p>Stojberg went on to state that she uses the cartoon as her background screen because it reminds her that Denmark has freedom of speech, including the right to criticize religions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHonestly, I think we should be proud of the Mohammad cartoons,\u201d\u00a0she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Many have spoken out against Stojberg&#8217;s post, particularly as visual representations of Muhammad are seen as blasphemous by hardline Muslims.<\/p>\n<p>One person said the post had nothing to do with free speech, and was only aimed at\u00a0&#8220;mockery and provocation,&#8221;\u00a0while accusing Stojberg of\u00a0&#8220;looking for conflict, trouble, and discord between people in Denmark.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Another person accused the minister of\u00a0&#8220;creating divisions&#8221;\u00a0while others are\u00a0&#8220;trying to create more unity.&#8221;\u00a0They called it\u00a0&#8220;sad&#8221;\u00a0that Stojberg didn&#8217;t have\u00a0&#8220;more important things to do.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>One person called Stojberg\u00a0&#8220;disgusting&#8221;\u00a0for creating a\u00a0&#8220;greater and greater distance between Danes and Muslims,&#8221;\u00a0adding that she doesn&#8217;t\u00a0&#8220;deserve&#8221;\u00a0to hold the position of immigration and integration minister.<\/p>\n<p>Others, however, seemed to agree with Stolberg&#8217;s stance, with one person thanking her for\u00a0&#8220;fighting so hard.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Another said the museum&#8217;s decision\u00a0&#8220;shows how much Islam has been allowed to influence Denmark,&#8221;\u00a0while encouraging Stojberg to\u00a0&#8220;keep up the good work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>One person encouraged Stojberg to\u00a0&#8220;stand firm on our freedom,&#8221;\u00a0adding that\u00a0&#8220;the right to criticize and to make satire and fun over and with religion have made us the free people we are today.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Previous drawings of Muhammad published in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten &#8211; including the one posted by Stojberg on Tuesday &#8211; led to three of Denmark&#8217;s embassies being attacked in the Middle East in 2006. Dozens of people were killed in the rioting.<\/p>\n<p>Stojberg is no stranger to controversy.
