{"id":281594,"date":"2016-11-05T16:04:17","date_gmt":"2016-11-05T20:04:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rael.org\/?p=281594"},"modified":"2020-10-30T16:08:49","modified_gmt":"2020-10-30T20:08:49","slug":"us-artist-makes-dinnerware-from-human-ashes-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/noproxy.rael.org\/bg\/us-artist-makes-dinnerware-from-human-ashes-video\/","title":{"rendered":"US artist makes dinnerware from human ashes (VIDEO)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><span style=\"color: #008080\"><strong>RAEL\u2019S COMMENT:<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #008080\"><strong>Excellent!<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Some people prefer to scatter the ashes of loved ones into the air, but this US artist has come up with a new way to remember your dead relatives \u2013 he makes cups, plates, bottles, and mugs from their ashes.<\/p>\n<p>This unusual dinnerware was \u201cdesigned to infuse a sense of mortality into everyday moments,\u201d\u00a0according to the creator of a company called Chronicle Cremation Designs.<\/p>\n<p>Justin Crowe, the founder and CEO, told Ruptly that these products are\u00a0\u201cunique\u201d\u00a0as they are\u00a0\u201cinteractive and they let you integrate the memories into everyday life, and use them, interact with them, and see them on an everyday basis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Crowe believes that using his mugs is\u00a0\u201cmuch different\u201d\u00a0from just\u00a0\u201clooking at a picture of someone on a shelf or looking at an urn on a shelf\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a mug you can use every day,\u201d\u00a0he says.<\/p>\n<p>According to the designer, cremation is becoming\u00a0\u201cradically really\u201d\u00a0popular.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt [cremation industry] has risen 25 percent over the last 10 years and in the US right now the average&#8230; 42 percent of all deaths are cremated. The funeral industry is really struggling right now, because they make their money off of caskets, selling caskets, burials, embalming and services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Crowe first started working with human ashes for an art project dubbed\u00a0Nourish, in which he made a dinner set using the remains of 200 anonymous individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Now the motto of Crowe\u2019s company is\u00a0\u201cdecorate your home with the memory of your loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe help you fold the memory of your loved ones into daily life.
