{"id":281450,"date":"2016-11-25T13:13:22","date_gmt":"2016-11-25T18:13:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rael.org\/?p=281450"},"modified":"2020-10-30T13:17:59","modified_gmt":"2020-10-30T17:17:59","slug":"putin-presents-russian-passport-to-actor-steven-seagal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/noproxy.rael.org\/cs\/putin-presents-russian-passport-to-actor-steven-seagal\/","title":{"rendered":"Putin presents Russian passport to actor Steven Seagal"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><span style=\"color: #008080\"><strong>RAEL\u2019S COMMENT:<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #008080\"><strong>A good place to emigrate for those who said they will leave the US if Trump is elected\u2026 lol<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Russian President Vladimir Putin has presented US actor and martial artist Steven Seagal with a Russian passport at the Kremlin.<\/p>\n<p>The Hollywood star, whose family originally hails from Russia, signed his passport in the presence of Putin just weeks after being granted citizenship.<\/p>\n<p>Putin said he hoped the passport would serve as a symbol of how the fractious ties between Moscow and Washington are starting to improve, according to\u00a0Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want to congratulate you and express the hope that this is another, albeit small, gesture and it might be a sign of the gradual normalization of relations between our countries,&#8221;\u00a0said the Russian president.<\/p>\n<p>Seagal, famous for his string of action movies including\u00a0Under Siege\u00a0and\u00a0On Deadly Ground, was formally awarded citizenship on November 3.<\/p>\n<p>The 64-year-old star has a close relationship with Russia, going back to the \u201990s when he \u00a0opened an outlet of the restaurant franchise Planet Hollywood in Moscow.
