One more!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Venezuela is abandoning the US dollar, with all future transactions on the Venezuelan exchange market to be made in euro, Tareck El Aissami, the country&#8217;s Vice President for Economy, announced.<\/p>\n<p>The sanctions, recently introduced by Washington against Caracas, \u201cblock the possibility of continuing to trade using the US dollar on the Venezuelan exchange market,&#8221; El Aissami said, adding that the American restrictions were\u00a0\u201cillegal and against international law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The American\u00a0\u201cfinancial blockade\u201d\u00a0of Venezuela affects both the country\u2019s public and private sectors, including pharmacy and agriculture, and shows\u00a0\u201cjust how far the imperialism can go in its madness,\u201d\u00a0the vice president said.<\/p>\n<p>Venezuela\u2019s floating exchange rate system, Dicom,\u00a0\u201cwill be operating in euro, yuan or any other convertible currency and will allow the foreign exchange market to use any other convertible currency,&#8221;\u00a0El Aissami said.<\/p>\n<p>The vice president added that all private banks in Venezuela are obliged to participate in the Dicom bidding system.<\/p>\n<p>The government is going to sell 2 billion euros between November and December to allow the public to purchase the European currency\u00a0\u201cat a real, non-speculative rate,\u201d\u00a0he said.<\/p>\n<p>Washington isn\u2019t hiding its desire to see Venezuela\u2019s socialist President, Nicolas Maduro, whom it\u2019s accusing of a crackdown on the country\u2019s opposition, removed from power. Trump administration even spoke of the possibility of the so-called\u00a0\u201chumanitarian intervention\u201d\u00a0into the country.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the US imposed sanctions prohibiting trading new debt and equity issued by the Venezuelan government and state oil company, PDVSA. The Department of Treasury also introduced several rounds of restrictions againt Venezuelan top government officials.
