Paranoia??? A little poor nation surrounded by US military bases of the most powerful nation on Earth and he calls this will to protect his population from another American genocide (they killed half the population during Korean war) paranoia? Maybe Saddam Hussein, Muhamar Kaddhafi, and Serbia should have had more \u201cparanoia\u201d and they would never have been destroyed. How would the USA react if it was surrounded by Chinese military bases located in Canada, Mexico, and Cuba? Wouldn\u2019t they feel some need to develop ways to protect themselves without being \u201cparanoiac\u201d?<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

The latest ballistic missile test carried out by North Korea was prompted by Kim Jong-un’s \u201cparanoia,\u201d US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley has said, adding that such actions reduce the chances of direct talks between Washington and Pyongyang.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving a missile test is not the way to sit down with the President (Donald Trump) because he\u2019s absolutely not going to do it,\u201d\u00a0Haley told \u2018This Week\u2019 show on ABC News.<\/p>\n

\u201cUntil he (Kim Jong-un) meets our conditions, we\u2019re not sitting down with him,\u201d\u00a0she emphasized.<\/p>\n

Early on Sunday, North Korea test-fired what is believed to be a new type of intermediate-range missile.<\/p>\n

Washington has repeatedly warned Pyongyang about further provocations, even mulling military action against the North over its nuclear program.<\/p>\n

Trump has called Kim a \u201csmart cookie,\u201d saying that he would be\u00a0\u201chonored\u201d\u00a0to hold a meeting with the North Korean leader.<\/p>\n

Diplomats on both sides were saying in recent weeks that direct talks between Kim and Trump were a possibility.<\/p>\n

Haley blamed the latest test, which violated UN Security Council resolutions and followed two failed launches in April, on Kim\u2019s psychological problems during the interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I think you first have to get into Kim Jong-un’s head, you know, which is he’s in a state of paranoia. He’s incredibly concerned about anything and everything around him,\u201d\u00a0she said.<\/p>\n

The UN ambassador said Washington will\u00a0\u201ccontinue to tighten the screws\u201d\u00a0on Kim and North Korea.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe feels it. He absolutely feels it. And we’re going to continue, whether it’s sanctions, whether it’s press statements, anything that we have to do,\u201d\u00a0she said.<\/p>\n

Haley also said that the new launch was\u00a0\u201cgetting close to home\u201d\u00a0for Russia and urged a\u00a0\u201cstrong unified message\u201d\u00a0to North Korea from the international community.<\/p>\n

The Russian military said the North Korean missile landed some 500 kilometers from Russia\u2019s border on Sunday but posed no threat due to it moving in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n
