{"id":281458,"date":"2016-11-24T13:22:32","date_gmt":"2016-11-24T18:22:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rael.org\/?p=281458"},"modified":"2020-10-30T13:27:05","modified_gmt":"2020-10-30T17:27:05","slug":"tokyo-stunned-by-first-november-snow-in-54-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/noproxy.rael.org\/ro\/tokyo-stunned-by-first-november-snow-in-54-years\/","title":{"rendered":"Tokyo stunned by first November snow in 54 years"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><span style=\"color: #008080\"><strong>RAEL\u2019S COMMENT:<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #008080\"><strong>Instead of global warming, it looks more like global cooling\u2026<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Citizens of Tokyo have reacted with a mixture of surprise and joy as the city was hit by its first November snow since 1962.<\/p>\n<p>While the Japanese capital does experience the occasional dusting of snow, it usually doesn\u2019t arrive until much deeper into winter, usually falling in January or February.<\/p>\n<p>The last time the city experienced snow in November Nikita Khrushkev was leader of the Soviet Union and John F Kennedy was resident in the White House.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Japan\u2019s \u00a0Meteorological Agency have\u00a0said\u00a0this is the first time snow has been seen on the ground there in November since records began in 1875.<\/p>\n<p>The snow, which began falling before dawn, was sparked by an unusual cold front that sent temperatures plummeting to near 0 degrees celsius (32 Fahrenheit).<\/p>\n<p>Snow gathered on sidewalks and cars, and caused trains to be delayed during morning rush hour. The Meteorological Agency\u00a0warned\u00a0of dangerous driving conditions and traffic problems.<\/p>\n<p>Many Tokyo residents took to social media to express their delight at the highly-unusual occurrence, leaving Instagram and Twitter flooded with pictures of the snow capped city.<\/p>\n<p>However not everyone was happy with the phenomenon as some complained of train delays and cold conditions.
