It&#8217;s been presented in a statement by Russia&#8217;s Foreign Ministry. The [US] move violates respective UN Security Council resolutions,\u201d\u00a0Putin stated.<\/p>\n<p>Syria&#8217;s Golan Heights region has been occupied by Israel since 1967 and later Tel Aviv unilaterally proclaimed sovereignty over it. US President Donald Trump announced the decision to recognize Tel Aviv&#8217;s sovereignty over it in late March, gaining praise of Israel \u2013 and sparking world-wide outrage.
